General rules and list of documents required for submitting an application to foreign police (cudzinecká polícia).
Applying for residence permit renewal by business (individual entrepreneur) for citizens of non-EU countries.
Residence permit renewal by the main applicant (guarantor). Presence of the applicant is required. A translator may be presented.
1) Applicant’s form

The form must be completed in Slovak language.
2) Confirmation of residence in Slovakia
Čestné vyhlásenie vlastníka nehnuteľnosti – declaration from the property owner.

The document must be completed in Slovak or Czech and certified by a Slovak or Czech notary, or personally signed at the foreign police department once submitting documents.

Nájomná zmluva – rental agreement.
It’s necessary to prepare a separate copy or a notarized copy of the agreement for submission to the police.

Potvrdenie ubytovacieho zariadenia – place of residence confirmation.
Handed out when living in dormitories, hostels, hotels, etc.
The document must be completed in Slovak or Czech and certified with the seal of the institution.

Čestné vyhlásenie o vlastníctve nehnuteľnosti – declaration of real estate ownership.
Submitted if a foreigner owns his own real estate.

Also important to note that proof of residence must be issued for a period of at least 6 months.
3) Certificate of financial results from the tax office
Výsledok hospodárenia – result of economic activity.
The document must contain information about the results of financial activities for the past calendar year. The taxable income indicated therein must be at least 20 subsistence minimums (as of 01.07.2025 approximately 5685 euros).
You can order such a document only in electronic form through the taxpayer’s electronic account. The document production period is up to 30 calendar days.
If business activity wasn’t carried out during the entire past calendar year, it’s necessary to confirm taxable income in the amount of 2 subsistence minimums (as of 01.07.2025 approximately 570 euros) for each month of having a residence permit.
In case entrepreneur didn’t have the right to conduct activities during the past calendar year, the results of economic activities aren’t provided from the tax office. Instead, you must provide a certificate from bank about the balance of the business account (Potvrdenie o zostatku na účte) at least 10 subsistence minimums (as of 01.07.2025 approximately 2845 euros).
4) Foreigner living finances
Potvrdenie o zostatku na účte – certificate from the bank about the balance on the personal account.
In case registering account in a foreign bank it’s recommended to prepare the document in English since a court translation into Slovak will be needed. The exception are certificates issued in Czech.
In this case, the account balance must be at least 12 subsistence minimums (as of 01.07.2025 approximately 3410 euros).
Account balance must be higher than the specified amount throughout the entire period of consideration of the case by the police.
5) Confirmation of health insurance
Potvrdenie o poistnom vzťahu – certificate of insurance owning.
The certificate must be obtained from your insurance company office in paper form with the stamp and signature of the employee.
6) Original passport
Cestovný pas – international passport.
The passport must be valid at the time of documents submission.
Police officer will make a copy of the passport and return it to the applicant.
7) Confirmation of no obligation to pay social insurance contributions
Potvrdenie o neevidencii platitela – certificate of no social insurance registration.
In the case the entrepreneur isn’t a payer of social contributions, it’s necessary to obtain written confirmation from social insurance about this.
