Applying for a residence permit renewal on reunion with guarantor-employee for citizens of non-EU countries.
Reunion of a child to guarantor renewal. Presence of the applicant is required. A translator may be presented.
1) Applicant’s form
Žiadosť o obnovenie prechodného pobytu – application for a residence permit.
The form is generated automatically as you fill it out on the police website.

The form must be completed in Slovak language.
2) Confirmation of residence in Slovakia
Čestné vyhlásenie vlastníka nehnuteľnosti – declaration from the property owner.

The document must be completed in Slovak or Czech and certified by a Slovak or Czech notary, or personally signed at the foreign police department once submitting documents.

Nájomná zmluva – rental agreement.
It’s necessary to prepare a separate copy or a notarized copy of the agreement for submission to the police.

Potvrdenie ubytovacieho zariadenia – place of residence confirmation.
Handed out when living in dormitories, hostels, hotels, etc.
The document must be completed in Slovak or Czech and certified with the seal of the institution.
Also important to note:
1) Proof of residence must be issued for a period of at least 6 months.
2) Guarantor’s and child’s places of residence must match.
3) Foreigner living finances
Potvrdenie zamestnávateľa o výške vyplácanej mzdy – confirmation from the employer about the guarantor’s salary level.
A guarantee of financial security can be certificate from the employer indicating a sufficient level of salary, which must be 1 subsistence minimum for each adult and half of subsistence minimums for each connected child on day the document is provided.

Výpis z osobného účtu za posledné tri mesiace – certificate from guarantor’s account movements of last 3 months.
If the certificate is prepared in a Slovak bank, then the document doesn’t require any additional certification. Account balance amount must be at least 6 subsistence minimums (as of 15.07.2024 approximately 1650 euros).
In case registering an account in a foreign bank, the document will require a court translation into Slovak. The exception are certificates issued in Czech.
Account balance must be higher than the specified amount throughout the entire period of consideration of the case by the police.
4) Guarantor’s obligation to provide financial support
Čestné vyhlásenie o poskytnutí finančného a hmotného zabezpečenia – statement of financial and material support.

5) Confirmation of health insurance
In case of having insurance with a Slovak company, certificate (Potvrdenie o poistnom vzťahu) must be obtained from your insurance company office in paper form with the stamp and signature of the employee.
If child is insured by a foreign insurance company, the certificate must be received in paper form with the seal and signature of a company employee. Next, this copy must be translated by a court translator into Slovak. The resulting translation will be certified by the translator’s seal. If the registry doesn’t have a translator from the original language of the document, then you can use the services of a court translator in the Czech Republic. In this case, documents translated into Czech will be accepted by the aliens police.
6) One color photo
Photos can be made in almost every shopping center or photo studio.
It’s recommended to crop photos measuring 3 x 3,5 cm and attaching to the applicant’s form right away, so when filing a police report, you don’t waste time on that.
7) Original passport
Cestovný pas – international passport.
The passport must be valid at the time of documents submission.
Police officer will make a copy of the passport and return it to the applicant.
8) Relevance of basis for reunion confirmation
Čestné vyhlásenie, že dôvody udelenia prechodného pobytu naďalej trvajú – declaration from the guarantor that the grounds granting temporary residence are still applying.
